Captain’s Log – Good Friday

It’s going to be a Latakia kind of weekend. We’re releasing some of the last batches of the current versions of Hand of Gotz and Notorious along with a reload of the new version of Dwarven Mine. The new Latakia blend Düngeonmeister debuts along with bento boxes containing some game night appropriate pipes and other goodies.

On the Virginia side, the final batch of Jim’s Special Flake drops. We have a one-off Fuzzy’s release called Sauerbraten that’s an early prototype of Pepper Jelly that accidentally used too much vinegar. It’s way too sweet/sour for the profile we wanted but we also realize some you might want a sweet/sour blend as a one-off. We hope to have time to pack up some Jupiter Slices. We’re way behind on processing plugs, and the good news is you will still have the finest red Virginia products probably through the end of the year. The new version of Kraken Bar will return. Holmes Slice will return. We just need time. In the words of Crowded House, don’t dream it’s over.

News from Burleyville, B. Frog’s Empire State returns this weekend. The Ministry of Packaged Tobaccos is also reporting that Rattray’s large tins and other manufactured wares are on the way. Under the old “free shipping for everything” model, selling tins was prohibitive because of the thin margins. Since switching to the paid shipping model, it’s been a pleasure to fill out the shelves.
