Ken loves to travel and meet people but for a while has been limited by a phantom known to runners as “peroneal tendonitis”. Ken will stop talking about himself in third person now.
For anyone who ever gets debilitating peroneal tendonitis, I recommend getting Brooks Adrenaline GTS for long walks and Brooks Glycerin GTS for recovery. I was able to go back to walking 10k steps a day after getting a good shoe combo. You use peptides, red light, grounding, massage, DMSO, magnesium, heat, cold, and KT tape but what you really need is two good pairs of shoes sized correctly for length and width. If you are really a wide and you keep buying regular shoes, the roll will cause you issues. Before you get onto the 10k+ steps a day kick, you really need proper shoes (especially if you are older). With the repetitive stress of walking in the wrong shoes, you set yourself up for injuries doing other tasks. In my case, it was adding heavy sled pulls in Vans shoes and playing Cricket barefoot. At last year’s Texas Pipe Show, I could barely get my ankle in/out of my Tecova’s to stand motionless behind a table. My last piece of advice on the subject is that system doctors will often give you Prednisone for this which will cause you to gain weight for temporary relief. With peroneal tendonitis, I recommend getting good shoes and taking some aspirin. Fix the real problem versus running on Cortisol mode to get rid of inflammation that will just come back.

Currently, in order to keep our Fall/Halloween release schedule with our travel schedule, we can’t attend the Vegas Pipe Show. We were hoping to attend Albany and Vegas this season but one thing I’ve learned is not to rush so much. If we rushed out a table and merchandise for Vegas, we’d be rushing again in November for Dallas. Since we also have a role at the Dallas show, we want to spend extra time making everything extra special.
